March Madness Recap – NRL, AFL, and Disney Lorcana Came to Play!

We came, we saw, we shipped an absolutely ridiculous number of trading cards! March 2025 was the epitome of madness at the Funporium — and not just because we opened more boxes than a moving company with a caffeine problem. Between the new NRL Traders, AFL Footy Stars, and a Lorcana expansion that nearly broke the internet, collectors went wild (and so did our packing team).

NRL Traders & AFL Footy Stars 2025: The Grub Is Real

Let’s start with the footy. NRL Traders 2025 dropped like a tackle from Payne Haas — hard and fast. Chasers were out in full force, from Fan Favourites and Season to Remember to Predictor cards that sparked more speculation than a sports betting forum.

A little Disappointed in our pull rates. We fell well behind on Legends Signatures which are of course the biggest hits in the release. Pulling only one of these out of 20 cases broke our spirits after 24 hours of solid pack busting.

AFL Footy Stars wasn’t far behind, slinging Epic Reds and Coleman Predictor chaos like it was going out of style (it isn’t). Collector energy was high, sleeves were flying, and a few too many Instant Wins for the statistics (We ain't complainin!). 

We managed to pull 9 Instant Win cards out of our 10 cases which makes up for the lack of success with the NRL Traders Legends. Felt a lot better after that.

Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island Brings the Mystery

And then there was Lorcana — because March wasn’t chaotic enough already. Archazia’s Island arrived with all the elegance of a cloaked owl and the subtlety of a hype train at full speed. Dual-ink cards? Enchanteds? Starter decks flying off shelves? You bet.

This set dropped straight into the hands of Illumineers who somehow always beat us to the Enchanteds by one pack. The owl guy might be mysterious, but our stock levels sure weren’t — they were gone in a flash.

We managed to pull 2 Enchanted cards from the 3 cases we smuggled away for ourselves to bust. We even put the video on Youtube so make sure you go and like and subscribe! We even got our audio working for that video (We are a little slow okay).

By the Numbers: Just How Mad Was March?

Let’s talk stats:

• Our biggest month on record since opening the Funporium!
• Website Orders: Up 25% on last year!! Whoaaa! Thanks so much for making it happen and we hope to keep bringing it in 2025!
• Average Order Value: Increased by 6% on last year. This space is alive and well!
• Returning Customers: 52% — What can we say? You guys are absolute legends for sticking with us! 

And yes, we did it all with the occasional existential crisis over where the packs ended and the sorting begins. With sore hands from opening over 10,000 packets of cards and I don't think our backs will ever be the same again.
