Get ready for Mother's Day!

It’s coming up to Mother’s Day - and none of us want to be running around at the last minute tearing out our hair trying to decide what to buy. There is 1 week to go so if we don't get our act together, we will end up going home with a wilted bunch of flowers and slippers that don’t fit. 

It’s time to make a plan and get it sorted before 4pm on Saturday afternoon. Gifts do not have to cost the Earth. Some of the best presents are those that show how much thought and effort you’ve gone to.

Think of the person you are buying for and answer these questions:

• What are their hobbies?

• Where would they keep the gift you have chosen?

• Would they use it?

• Is it a colour they would choose for themselves?
  
  

Make a few short notes before you go looking for a gift so you have an idea of what would be appropriate. It is easy to get off track and buy something you regret later if you are pressed for time.

Now, don’t be afraid to ask the staff at the shops for help if you are overwhelmed or can’t find what you are looking for. We may not have exactly what you had in mind but can show you alternatives and offer suggestions.

Last but definitely not least, don't forget the card to go with your gift. Take the time to choose one that you can relate to. It is the statement piece after all that ties a gift together because it speaks on your behalf. If you find one that has a nice picture, but the verse doesn’t fit for the person - just keep looking. You need to get this right!
